Shannon is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor who brings warmth, humour, compassion and a nurturing approach as she partners with children, young people and parents to inform and empower them.
She brings the same approach to her supervision of psychologists, and provisional psychologists.
Shannon has 15 years of experience working in community health, non-government organisations, hospital, independent and catholic schools, and private practice. She provides a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach to her work, which is neurodiversity-affirming and strength-based. She is passionate about her work and sharing in the growth of her clients.
Shannon uses a psychodynamic perspective, in addition to drawing on counselling strategies from a diverse range of evidence-based approached to suit the needs of her clients. Exploring from a systemic framework, she gains a holistic view of her client, informed by themselves, their parents, school staff, and other professionals working with the child or young person. Interventions are coordinated and developed with this systemic lens in mind.
Shannon has experience in assessments of children and adolescents around aspects of learning and ADHD and also provides consultancy to schools. She is experienced in training and professional development to school staff, parents, children and young people.
